An early 2:00 start did not seem to bother the Vikings as they beat host Compton College 3-0 for their tenth consecutive game without a defeat. With the win, the Vikings improved their record 6-1-6 (3-0-2), while the Tartars fell to 2-10-2 (0-4). 

Long Beach had an offensive onslaught, as they had 24 shots on goal and 16 of those on target. If not for the spectacular play of the Compton keeper, the score could have been much more. In the 23 minute, Jesus Moreno (Millikan HS) had his first of two assists as he played a ball into Bryan Villa (Santee Educational Complex / Cal State Dominguez Hills) on a corner kick. Villa first timed the pass and put the team up 1-0 eighteen minutes into the game. That lead would remain for the rest of the half as the Vikings were thwarted time and time again by either the Compton keeper, or the crossbar that was struck three times in the half.

In the second half, LBCC continued applying the pressure, and were finally rewarded when Miguel Arroyo (LB Poly HS) would serve up Carlos Bahena (Anaheim HS) who, with a first-time effort from 26 yards out, placed the ball into the upper corner of the goal in the 81st minute. Diego Albanez would seal the game in the 88th minute when he scored his team leading seventh goal of the season off of an assist from Moreno.
