The No. 6 Long Beach City College men's water polo team defeated the El Camino College Warriors 26-15 on Wednesday afternoon.
Colley Ochoa tallied seven goals on the Warriors, while Michael Minera and Sandro Pueyo both nabbed five goals to help lead the Vikings on offense.
"El Camino's defense was difficult to penetrate with their press and shot-blocking abilities," said Head Coach Chris Oeding. "Also, their offensive attack provided some challenges with their consistent movement and solid perimeter shooting."
Goalkeeper Blake Borders was in the cage for the first three quarters with six saves, while Edson Alvarado subbed in for the final quarter and totaled five saves for the Vikings.
The Vikings will return to the pool on Oct. 20 at the Golden West Invitational.
