The Vikings dominated San Diego Mesa College, clinching a 9-1 victory after just six innings of fierce play. Mariah Zapata (10-1) showcased her pitching prowess, allowing only one run on four hits while striking out four Olympians.
The action kicked off with a bang as Jordyn Villanueva smashed an RBI single, bringing Xiomei Geluz home for the Vikings' first score in the opening inning. Alynna Gonzalez followed up with a powerful 2 RBI single, and Natalie Wilson drew a walk to notch the Vikings' fourth run before the inning concluded.
Though the Olympians managed to sneak in a run in the fourth inning, the Vikings refused to relent. In the sixth inning, Geluz contributed another RBI, Wilson dashed home on a wild pitch, Rene Sena delivered an RBI sac fly, and Julianna Rosas sealed the deal with a mighty 2 RBI double, securing the commanding 9-1 win.
Next up, the Vikings are set to face off against El Camino College on April 15th at 2 p.m.
