The 2013 Long Beach City College track and field season came to an end for three individuals on Saturday at the Southern California Regional Championships at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster.

Representing the Long Beach women, freshman Jaylynn Branch was the Vikings' top finisher with a fifth-place showing in the 400 meters with a season-best time of 57.21. Branch just missed advancing to the state championships as she needed a fourth-place finish to qualify. She was also ninth in the 200 meters finals at 25.46.

For the LBCC men, Freshman Christian Bassman (pictured) finished in seventh place in the 100 meters with a season-best time of 10.74. And in the 1,500 meters, freshman Justin Weaver ran 4:23.28 to finish in 12th place.
