It was recently announced that sophomore sprinter Cicely Arana signed her National Letter of Intent to NCAA Division 1 University of California, Irvine (UCI) to pursue her track & field and academic endeavors.

This past season, Arana ran the 4 x 100-meter relay, 4 x 400-meter relay, 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 400-meter run. She had her best time in the 100-meter dash in the Beach Opener in March with a 12.60 time. In her first meet at Pomona-Pitzer College, she took second place with the 4 x 100-relay team with a time of 48.51.

During the 2019 season, Arana took third place in the California Community College Athletic Association State Championships in the 4x100 relay with a 48.23 time.

The UCI Anteaters are led by six-year head coach Jeff Perkins and race in the Big West Conference.
