The Vikings Track & Field squads were hosts to the third annual Viking Invitational this past Friday. The men's team claimed a commendable second place, while the women's team secured a respectable third place.
Here's the breakdown of standout performances:
Men
- Kai Lauderdale sprinted to victory in the 100m and secured a solid 2nd place in the 200m.
- Noah Macias dominated the 3000m steeplechase, clinching the top spot.
- Nicholas Nance followed closely, securing 2nd place in the 3000m steeplechase.
- The men's 4x100m relay, composed of David Garcia, Jeremiah Artis, Kai Lauderdale, and Justin Auston, captured 2nd place.
- Similarly, the men's 4x400m relay team, consisting of Amari Shepard, Justin Auston, Luke Chibueze, and Franklyn Taylor, took home 2nd place.
- Louis Mazariegos exhibited a strong performance, finishing 3rd in the 3000m steeplechase.
- Franklyn Taylor showcased his prowess with a 3rd-place finish in the 800m.

- The women's 4x100m relay team, comprising Simone Terry, Aniyah Wyche, Sa'Mir Braccey, and Mia Jamerson, clinched 1st place.
- Similarly, the women's 4x400m relay team, featuring Aniyah Wyche, Danika Hunter, Alona Washington, and Frida Hernandez, secured 1st place.
- Aniyah Wyche showcased her speed with a 3rd-place finish in the 100m.
