Alumni Spotlight: Women’s Basketball’s De’Brianna Hampton

The Long Beach City College (LBCC) Athletic Department features recent women's basketball graduate, De'Brianna Hampton in their next installment of the Alumni Spotlight series. Hampton went on from LBCC to play basketball at La Sierra University.

Last season at LBCC, sophomore forward Hampton earned a spot on the South Coast Conference Second-Team list. Hampton was a leader on the court with averaging 15.3 points and 4.4 assists per game and was 65.4% at the free throw line.

At La Sierra University, Hampton leads the team with 149 points and 79 rebounds. She averages 14.9 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per game. Hampton was an impact player in the past two wins against Walla Walla University and Bethesda University of California, where she scored a total of 26 points and had 14 rebounds.

The Golden Eagles are currently in season with a 6-4 record.

"We are really happy to see De'Brianna take advantage of this opportunity to study at La Sierra University," said Heach Coach Ollie Brent, "She's grown so much from the high school player that we recruited, to the player she is now. We are excited to see her success on the court this year, and wish her luck this 2020 season!"

The La Sierra University Golden Eagles are led by Head Coach Kevin Mitchell (3rd) and are in the California Pacific Conference in the NAIA Division II.
