Long Beach, Calif. - Marcus Carroll has been hired as the next Director of Cross Country and Track and Field Operations, announced Monday. He will take over leadership of the program on August 1.

"We have been working very hard to rebuild our cross country and track and field programs, and we are very excited to have Marcus Carroll on board." "I am ready and looking forward to meeting the coaching staff, the administration, the faculty, the community and most importantly, the student-athletes at LBCC. Go Vikings!"

Prior to his stint at MPC, he was an assistant coach at San Diego Mesa College, where he helped lead the Olympians to three-straight PCAC Conference Championships and sent a number of athletes to the Southern California Regional and CCCAA State Track and Field Championships.

A 2008 graduate from California State University, Los Angeles, Carroll has a bachelor's in Interpersonal Communication, Language, and Social Interaction, and he received his master's in Physical Education with an emphasis in Coaching Education from Ball State University in 2015. He and his wife, Nina, have two children, Mica, and Marcina.
