Oeding Helps Lead Team USA to Third-Straight Gold Medal

Tokyo, Japan - Vikings head aquatics coach Chris Oeding helped lead the United States Women's Water Polo Senior National Team to a dominating 14-5 victory over Spain in the gold medal match on Saturday.

Oeding joined the staff as an assistant coach under Adam Krikorian in 2013 and has since helped lead Team USA to top finishes at two Olympic Games, six FINA World League Super Finals, two FINA World Cups, and three FINA World Championships.

He also has Olympic experience as an athlete from 1993-00, serving as team captain of the United State's Men's Water Polo Senior National Team in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia and competing in the 1996 games in Atlanta. Overall, Team USA finished seventh in 1996 and sixth in 2000. 

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games wrap up on Sunday, Aug. 8.
