Dan Peters (Basketball/Baseball, 1971-72): Peters was a guard on LBCC’s 1971 state championship basketball team and came close to achieving that same honor on the baseball squad. Peters was an All-Metropolitan Conference first baseman for the Vikings in 1972 and helped lead LBCC to a state championship final-four finish. Peters went on to play one season of basketball at Portland State University in 1973 before returning home to play two seasons (1974-75) of baseball at Cal State Fullerton where he earned all-conference honors in 1974. Peters returned to LBCC as an assistant baseball coach for two years (1978-79) and since then was named CIF Coach of the Year three times and West Coach High School Coach of the Year in 1992.
