The Long Beach City College women's beach volleyball team continued competition this Wednesday afternoon by facing off against the Saddleback College Gauchos at Doheny State Beach. The Vikings earned a 5-0 victory over the Gauchos after not dropping a single set for the second time this season.

The team's 5-0 win is the fourth match-sweep of the season. The Vikings have only lost a total of four sets throughout the entire season in California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) competition making their current set record 49-4.

New-look pairings were just as effective, if not stronger, for Long Beach against the Gauchos. Freshman Jordan Diaz (La Habra, CA) and freshman Marina Adolpho (Long Beach, CA) acted as the most dominant duo by not allowing their opponent to reach double-digit points.

Sophomore Sarah Miller (Long Beach, CA) and freshman Paige Panter (Southlake, TX) remained undefeated on the season by taking care of business in two sets. Sophomore Geraldine Poon (Long Beach, CA) and freshman Valeria Payan (Pacoima, CA) cruised to an easy, two-set win as well.

The Vikings (5-0) will travel to San Diego, CA to face off against San Diego Mesa and Palomar College on Friday, March 17th at 10 a.m. and 12 noon, respectfully.
