Sarah Miller and Paige Panter Advance to Quarter Finals at CCCAA Individual State Championships

It has been smooth sailing thus far for Long Beach City College women's beach volleyball's sophomore Sarah Miller (Long Beach, CA) and freshman Paige Panter (Southgate, TX) at the 2017 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Beach Volleyball Individual State Championships as they have advanced to the quarter finals with two match sweeps on Saturday.

Miller and Panter continue to dominate as LBCC's top pair and the fourth-overall seed in the tournament of 32. They began their day by cruising through No. 29 Gavilan's Gerard and Boja by the final set scores of 21-12 and 21-10. They served out the same scores in reverse order in their second-round matchup by defeating No. 13 Ventura's Simental and Wright by scores of 21-10 and 21-12.

With the two victories, Miller and Panter advance to the quarter finals and face off against No. 28 MiraCosta's Alpers and Sellers.

Alpers and Sellers acted as the second flight for MiraCosta throughout the regular season.

Six of the final teams remaining in the bracket of 32 are members of the Pacific Coast Conference (PCC) with Long Beach, Palomar, MiraCosta, Grossmont, El Camino, and San Diego Mesa all featuring teams in the quarter finals.

Miller and Panter will return to the court at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning.
