The Long Beach City College baseball team suffered a 6-0 non-conference loss to visiting Golden West College on Thursday at Joe Hicks Memorial Field.

LBCC (3-5 overall) managed just four hits in the contest, grounded into three double plays, and committed three errors that led to three unearned runs.

Golden West (7-4-1) scored single runs in the third, fourth, sixth, and seventh innings and put up a pair of runs in the fifth.

Long Beach freshman starting pitcher Jake Angus (Pacifica HS) took the loss to fall to 0-1. He allowed just three hits and two earned runs (four runs total), but was wild as he walked two and hit three batters.

Freshman David Aispuro (Jordan HS, pictured) and sophomore Javier Saenz (Santa Fe HS) closed out the game with scoreless innings of relief.

Nicholas Hanson (3-0) cruised for the Rustlers as he scattered three hits over seven innings and struck out four. Daniel DeWolf led Golden West at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a double and two runs.

The two teams conclude the two-game series on Saturday (Feb 25) at 12 pm back at Golden West.
