Long Beach City College dominated its South Coast Conference game against East Los Angeles College on Friday for eight innings. But LBCC couldn’t finish off the contest as the Huskies rallied for seven runs in the top of the ninth to defeat the Vikings 8-3 at Joe Hicks Memorial Field.

Baseball: Long Beach sweeps two-game Antelope Valley series

Long Beach City College closed out the week with a two-game sweep of the Antelope Valley College Marauders. On Tuesday, the Vikings cruised to a 7-1 win at home and picked up a 5-2 victory on the road in Lancaster on Thursday to improve to 8-6 overall.

Long Beach City College Baseball head coach Casey Crook will have to wait two more days for his next chance to become the college's all-time wins leader. Currently tied with Joe Hicks at 513 victories, Crook and the Vikings suffered a 5-1 non-conference loss to visiting Oxnard College on Tuesday at Joe Hicks Memorial Field.
