During the summer, the Vikings will be highlighting some of the Top Team Performances of the 2019-20 year. Due to concerns over COVID-19, competition for all spring sports were canceled halfway through their season.

The baseball team's top performance was when the No.11 Long Beach City College Vikings baseball team upset the No.1 San Joaquin Delta Mustangs 2-1 in the first game of the Southern California Challenge Tournament with a walk-off home run from freshman left fielder Moises Guzman. 

Freshman pitcher Mitchell Knight earned his first win on the mound with only allowing the Mustangs to one hit, while striking out two.

The Vikings were scoreless with the Mustangs through the first six innings. Then in the bottom of the seventh, the Vikings brought the action with freshman second baseman Matthew Pinal getting a base hit and then was brought in by a double to center field from sophomore center fielder Carter White to lead 1-0.

The Mustangs answered back in the top of the eighth with an RBI single to tie the game 1-1. Then in the bottom of the ninth, with one out, Guzman homered to left field for the walk-off home run.

The next day, the Vikings continued the winning-streak with a come-from-behind 6-5 win against Pierce College in game two of the Southern California Challenge.
