The Long Beach City College Vikings defeated the San Bernardino Valley College Wolverines 5-2 on Tuesday afternoon. With the win, the Vikings advance to 11-10 overall.

Freshman left handed pitcher Jake Habelitz (1-0) earned the win on the hill, while freshman pitcher Matthew Pinal earned his first save in the final three innings.

The Vikings got started in the bottom of the fourth inning with a 2RBI home run to left field from freshman right fielder Raul Garcia.

The Wolverines came back with an unearned run in the top of the fifth, but the Vikings kept rolling with an RBI single to left field from freshman shortstop Alex Seguine to score in freshman left fielder JT Mendoza to bring up the score 3-1.

Seguine smashed another RBI single in the bottom of the seventh and scored in freshman second baseman Kamau Neighbors. Then Seguine was scored in off a fielder's choice to extend the Vikings' lead to five.

In the top of the ninth, the Wolverines score one more unearned run, but couldn't close the gap and the Vikings held on to the 5-2 victory.
