The Long Beach City College baseball team took down the LA Harbor Seahawks 7-2 on Thursday afternoon in game two of the three-game conference series. The Vikings won game one on Monday at LA Harbor 8-5. With the win, the Vikings advance to 19-11 overall and 12-5 in the South Coast Conference.

Sophomore pitcher Reed Passmore (4-3) earned the win on the mound by only allowing the Seahawks to two runs on nine hits in eight innings of work. Freshman reliever Mitchell Knight came in the final inning to strike out one and shut down the Seahawks.

The Seahawks were first on the board with a home run, but then Vikings dominated the rest of the game.

Freshman first baseman Matthew Pinal scored the first two runs for the Vikings in the first and third inning from a pair of RBI singles from freshman left fielder Raul Garcia.

Garcia was then scored in by freshman left fielder Bryan Sanders to extend the Vikings' lead 3-1.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Vikings continued to bring the offensive momentum with a run from freshman Alex Seguine, and an RBI double from freshman third baseman Evan Vazquez to score in Pinal.

The Seahawks score another run in the top of the eighth, but the Vikings put two more on the board from Sanders and freshman second baseman Kamau Neighbors to finish the game with the 7-2 win.

The Vikings will be back in action on Saturday, April 9 at LA Harbor College at 12p.m.
