Vikings Fall to El Camino 16-4 in Tough Matchup

The Warriors broke through in the third inning, putting up a four-spot thanks to a grand slam. El Camino continued the offensive surge in the fourth, tacking on five more runs to make it 9-0 before Long Beach could respond.
The Vikings got on the board in the top of the fifth when center fielder Danny Rodriguez roped an RBI double to left field, scoring second baseman Cross Stephens. The Vikings added another run in the sixth after right fielder Erick Espinoza drew a bases-loaded walk, bringing home third baseman Eshua Desai.
In the seventh, first baseman Max Ghiglieri doubled in right fielder Ryan Lopetegui before being thrown out trying to stretch it into a triple, trimming the deficit to 10-3. Pinch hitter Myles Fendrick capped the Vikings' scoring with an RBI single in the ninth to plate pinch runner Kyler Gloth.
On the mound, Logan Carr (1-5) took the loss after allowing seven runs in three innings of work. Benjamin Dorantes provided three innings of relief, striking out three, while Thomas Adair worked a clean final inning with one strikeout.
The Vikings will be back on the field against Mt.SAC on Tuesday, April 22 at the Vikings Baseball Field at 2 p.m.
