Long Beach City College Athletics is proud to announce Phillip Visico as the Interim Head Coach of the Vikings baseball program.
A Long Beach native and proud alumnus of Wilson High School (Class of 2010), Visico began his collegiate playing career at LBCC from 2011–2013 under the guidance of legendary Head Coach Casey Crook. His return to LBCC came in 2017, when he joined the coaching staff as an assistant coach. Over the past eight seasons, Visico has played an integral role in the program, contributing to recruiting efforts, player development, and game-day strategy—including overseeing the infield and outfield units, guiding the offense, and coaching third base.
Now stepping into the interim head coach role, Visico leads the program with a wealth of experience, a deep connection to the college, and a talented coaching staff by his side. His vision is focused on developing a competitive team culture and returning the Vikings to conference championship contention.
"I'm beyond blessed and humbled to be given this opportunity by our administration," said Visico. "This place, the people, and the culture have had a tremendous impact on my life. I hope to carry forward the legacy and spirit instilled by Coach Crook and share that with every student-athlete who comes through this program. Thank you, Vikings Nation!"
"We are proud to welcome Phillip Visico as the Interim Head Baseball Coach at Long Beach City College," said Kaladon Stewart, Director of Athletics and Student Success. "Coach Visico is a product of this community, a former Viking student-athlete, and has spent the past eight seasons pouring into this program as an assistant coach. His deep connection to LBCC, his commitment to developing student-athletes, and his reverence for the legacy of Coach Casey Crook make him the right leader for this transition. With a strong staff beside him, I have no doubt he will continue to build on our tradition and elevate Viking Baseball to new heights."
