Long Beach City College interim athletic director Randy Totorp has announced the hiring of Brett Peabody as the new head coach of the Viking football program. Coach Peabody comes to LBCC after a 10-year coaching career at nearby Los Angeles Harbor College.

Long Beach City College interim athletic director Randy Totorp has announced that football head coach Mike Reisbig has stepped down from his position effective immediately. Reisbig plans to remain with the college and football program as a faculty member and assistant coach.

Three members of the 2012 Long Beach City College football team were named to the SCFA National Division All-Central Conference team. Sophomores Oliver Robertson, Jared Ginter, and Montez Hunter all earned second-team honors.

Long Beach City College played one of its best games of the season on Saturday, but mistakes in the third quarter ultimately led to a 43-24 loss to visiting Citrus College in the Vikings’ final home game.
