The Long Beach City College football team continues its run towards a state championship this Saturday in the Southern California championship game at Saddleback College, but on Monday the Vikings racked up 16 Southern California Football Association National Division All-Central League postseason honors.

Freshman quarterback Jack Lowary's (Mater Dei HS) two-yard touchdown run with 34 seconds left in the fourth quarter capped an impressive 34-30 come-from-behind win for Long Beach City College at rival Cerritos College on Saturday night in the Southern California Bowl. With the victory, LBCC advances to next Saturday's (Nov. 28) Southern California Regional Championship game at Saddleback College.

Football: Goudeau fuels second-half rally, Long Beach defeats LA Harbor 32-27

Trailing 21-7 to visiting Los Angeles Harbor College early in the third quarter, the Long Beach City College football team needed a spark to get its offense going. But it was sophomore corner back Kiante Goudeau (Edison HS) on defense that came up with the big plays when the Vikings needed them most. Goudeau had a pair of returns for touchdowns in the third quarter as LBCC rallied to beat the Seahawks 32-27 in both teams' SCFA National Central League opener at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

Football: Vikings impressive in season debut, rout Moorpark 43-16

Heading into the 2015 season, Long Beach City College football head coach Brett Peabody felt confident about his defense but knew there were question marks about his offense after watching numerous skill position players move on to Division I programs. Some of those questions might have gotten answered as the Vikings totaled 418 yards of offense in a 43-16 opening-night win at Moorpark College's Griffin Stadium on Saturday.
