The No. 5 Long Beach City College football team hit the road on Saturday night to face off against L.A. Harbor in conference play. LBCC was firing on all cylinders by leading wire-to-wire and being efficient in the red zone, halting L.A. Harbor to just three points en route to a 37-3 victory.

The Vikings held the Seahawks to three points, marking the second time in the last three games that the defense has held a team to three points or less.

The defense provided the offense with a sturdy foundation for success. While halting L.A. Harbor to 134 yards of offense, the defensive efforts were highlighted by recording four interceptions and knocking loose three forced fumbles. Darnay Harris had the biggest interception in the third quarter and took it 51 yards to the house. Jalal Thomas, Tim Tyler, and Raymond Tufuga all got in on the picking action as well.

Marcus Reynolds, the Southern California Football Association (SCFA) Week Seven Defensive Player of the Week, continued to dominate in the backfield by recording two sacks for a loss of seven yards. In addition, he forced a fumble. Kobe Williams recorded the third forced fumble as well.

The Vikings continued to kill it on the offensive end with a strong, diverse ground game leading to four rushing touchdowns. Tyree Harris reserved rights to the end zone twice on the night by recording two rushing touchdown - both coming in the second quarter. Jason Floyd handled a significant load on the ground by carrying the ball 10 times for 59 yards

Jake Maier was effective in the running game as well by carrying the ball eight times for 24 yards and a touchdown. Maier was also effective in the aerial attack by going 24-for-34 to equal 259 total yards. He distributed the ball to numerous weapons, with Jaylen Watson and Jabari Minix acting as his go-to targets. They each hauled in five catches with Watson reeling in 64 yards and Minix earning 52 yards.

Sergio Garcia booted home one field goal attempt at a distance of 26 yards. Furthermore, he punched home four extra points attempts successfully.

The Vikings (6-2, 2-1 SCC) will head into their biggest game of the season against the top-ranked and undefeated Riverside City College Tigers (8-0, 3-0 SCC) at home for sophomore night at 6 p.m.
