After another solid season from the Long Beach City College football program, two outstanding athletes have committed to signing their National Letters of Intent (NLI) to compete at the NCAA Division-I level on Wednesday morning. Sophomore offensive lineman Jacob Hines (Long Beach, CA) sign his NLI to attend Texas Tech University and freshman offensive lineman Sean Tulette (Long Beach, CA) inked his NLI to compete at the University of Idaho.

Hines was a two-year member of the Viking's football regime while starting on the offensive line throughout his career. He was part of the 2016 Western State Bowl Championship game where he helped Long Beach earn a total of 676 yards that included 199 on the ground. Hines, who was selected to the Southern California Football Association (SFCA) Central Division's Second-Team All-Conference list, will make a strong addition to the Red Raider's offensive line.

Head Coach Brett Peabody was very emotional when discussing Hines' dedication and value to the program.

"Quite honestly, I love the guy," said Peabody. "He is the epitome of what we want a student-athlete to be in our program. He's a role model for others. He will be truly missed and will be irreplaceable on so many levels. He is going to be a true leader of men."

Tulette buckled his chinstrap for the Vikings for one season and made an immediate impact due to his versatility and athleticism on the offensive line. While coming in as a center and guard hybrid, Tulette was quickly shifted over the tackle position and excelled to helping lead one of the most powerful offensive units in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA).

"Sean was a key recruit for us," said Peabody. "We swung him out to play right tackle due to his extreme athleticism. At the end of the day, he did what the team asked him to do."

The pair helped in leading the Viking offense to marks of 38.3 points-per-game, 372.4 passing yards-per-game, and 141.5 rushing yards-per-game.
