No. 19 Long Beach City College Football upset the No. 9 Cerritos College Falcons with a 30-14 conference and Crosstown Cup win! The Vikings now are 3-2 overall and are undefeated in conference action with a 2-0 record.

The Crosstown Cup is a perpetual trophy awarded to the winner of the rivalry game. Last year, the Vikings came up short to the Falcons in the Western State Bowl and made sure to make up for it in tonight's game.

The Vikings came out strong from the beginning with quarterback Will Madonna tossing the one to wide receiver Matthew Berenji for six yards to put the Vikings on the board.

Cerritos had back-to-back touchdowns in the second quarter to lead the Vikings 14-7, but with 22 seconds left on the clock, Berenji and Madonna connected again with a 31-yard bomb to tie the Falcons 14-14 going into halftime. Berenji totaled 97 yards for the game with seven returns.

The Vikings kept pressing the Falcons with a 37-yard field goal from kicker Ethan Smithlin followed by a 52-yard kickoff return touchdown from left back Jalen Johnson.

The Vikings finalized the game with a 23-yard run from wide receiver Cieonta Davis to inherit the 30-14 victory over Cerritos.

Defensive back Jonah Martinez led the charge on defense with seven tackles, but defensive end Jagger MosQueda blew threw the Falcons offense with five tackles, and a sack for a loss of eight yards.

The Vikings will return to the field on Saturday, Oct. 14 for Homecoming and the Clash of the Presidents' Cup at 6 p.m.
