Football Alum Thaddeus Dixon to Play in CFP National Championship

Former Vikings football athlete Thaddeus Dixon is set to play in the 2023 College Football Playoff Championship game tonight with the No. 2 Washington football team (14-0).

Originally from La Mirada High School, Dixon played two seasons with the Vikings and was a unanimous first-team SCFA All-Northern League selection during the 2022 season. He totaled 32 tackles and hauled in three interceptions.

After the 2022 season, Dixon signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Washington and started practicing with the Huskies in the Spring of 2023. He has played in every game so far, totaling one interception for 14 yards, and totaling 24 tackles.

"We couldn't be happier and more proud of Thaddeus and all that he's accomplished," said Director of Football Operations and Head Coach Brett Peabody. "In one year, he's gone from playing in a JC bowl game to playing for a National Championship. He's a perfect example of what "betting on yourself" means. Thad bet on himself; embraced the JC grind here at LBCC, got his grades right, and killed it on the field. Hopefully tonight, he helps his team earn a National Championship. Go Huskies!"

The Huskies look to take on No. 1 Michigan (14-0) tonight at 4:30 p.m. at NRG Stadium in Houston.
