Acting Director of Football Operations, Marques Cooper is a highly experienced collegiate football coach with over a decade of success in player development, recruiting, and strategic planning. He currently serves as the Defensive Coordinator, Defensive Backs Coach, and Assistant Recruiting Coordinator at Long Beach City College (LBCC), where he has built a strong track record of producing elite defensive talent and elevating team performance. Cooper has coached multiple All-State and All-Conference players, including ESPN Top 50 prospects and Division I scholarship recipients.

Before joining LBCC, Cooper held coaching roles at Azusa Pacific University (NCAA Division II), El Camino College, and Santa Monica College, where his defensive units consistently ranked among the best in the state. His leadership helped secure conference championships and postseason victories, and his coaching philosophy “Building Champions, While Pursuing Championships”, reflects his commitment to both athletic and personal growth.

Cooper holds a Master of Physical Education and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Azusa Pacific University. In addition to his coaching career, he has worked as a Juvenile Probation Officer, mentoring at-risk youth and guiding them toward positive life changes. His expertise in player development, strategic game planning, and academic mentorship has made him a respected leader in the football community.
