Wilder De Leon has been coaching football for the past 21 years.  He began his coaching career at his alma mater, North High School in Torrance where he served as the offensive and defensive line coach for seven years. While at North, Coach De Leon was fortunate to coach future Arizona State offensive lineman Robert Gustavis, and University of Hawaii offensive lineman Laupepa Letuli.

De Leon then left North to coach at Los Angeles Harbor College where he coached the offensive line for seven years.  At Harbor, he has coached All-Americans, all-state, and many all-conference offensive linemen that have all moved on to four-year schools, including John Miller (Syracuse), Rheid Skipps (Duquesne),  Niu Sale (Wash. St.), Joey Trapp (Miss. St.), Josh Jourdan, (S.E. Missouri St.), Demetrious Amos (Idaho St.).

Going into his 8th season at LBCC, 22nd overall, he has coached several offensive linemen that have moved on to 4-year schools, Including:

In 2019, De Leon helped lead the Vikings to their fourth Conference Championship, and fifth Bowl Win with a 20-16 win in the Southern California Bowl.  LBCC posted an overall record of 8-3, going 4-1 in conference play, and also had 3 Offensive linemen earn All Conference Honors: Teeshaun Turpin, John Thierry, and Christian Conrad.

De Leon is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach, with a Bachelor's degree in kinesiology and physical education with an option in kinesiotherapy. He earned his Master’s degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills in Physical Education Administration.  He is Part Time Adjunct Faculty at LBCC, and has been teaching Middle School Physical Education in Hawthorne, CA for the past 16 years.

De Leon is a married father of two boys.
