Men's Basketball: Vikings win fourth straight, cruise past Pasadena 79-62
Freshman guard Will Ervin (pictured) scored a team-high 15 points off the bench to help lead the Long Beach City College men's basketball team to a 79-62 South Coast Conference win over visiting Pasadena City College on Friday night.
The win was the Vikings' fourth straight and seventh in their last nine games. LBCC is now 8-11 overall and 5-1 in the South Coast Conference South Division.

The lead exchanged hands numerous times throughout the first half. But with the scored tied 24-24, the Vikings finally took over for good. Long Beach put together an 11-2 run, thanks to a pair of buckets by sophomore Raynard Tyler and a big three-pointer from freshman Ashton Edwards, to jump ahead 35-26 with three minutes to go in the first half.
LBCC led 40-31 at halftime and was up by as many as 24 points (73-49) with four minutes remaining in the game.
Tyler scored 14 points and freshman Tyler Tuliau added 13 points to go with eight rebounds. Edwards contributed off the bench with 12 points.

Chris Smith led Pasadena (12-9, 3-3 SCC) with 10 points and Alec Tatum had a game-high 17 rebounds to go with seven points.

Long Beach returns to action on Wednesday (Jan 25) when it travels to East Los Angeles College for a 7 pm SCC game.
