The Long Beach City College men's basketball team has received the No. 16 seed and will host No. 17 Santa Ana College on Wednesday (Feb 26) at 7 pm in a first-round 2014 CCCAA Southern California Regional playoff game. Playoff brackets were announced this afternoon at the SoCal postseason coaches meeting.

Tickets for the CCCAA playoff game as the Hall of Champions Gym are $10 for general admission and $7 for students, faculty, staff, senior citizens over 60, and children under 12 years old.

Long Beach returns to the postseason for the first time since 2011. Under fifth-year head coach Barry Barnes, LBCC earned a South Coast Conference South Division championship with a 10-3 record and enters Wednesday's game at 18-9 overall. The 2014 conference title was LBCC's first since 2007.

Santa Ana shared the Orange Empire Conference championship with Saddleback College with a 10-2 mark in conference while finishing 16-10 overall. The Dons will be making their second consecutive trip to the postseason under eighth-year head coach David Breig. Sophomore guard Cammie Lewis leads Santa Ana, averaging 19.3 points per game.

This will be the second meeting between Long Beach and Santa Ana this season as the Vikings defeated the Dons 78-74 at the Hall of Champions Gym on December 3. Wednesday's winner will travel to No. 1 seed Antelope Valley College for a second-round game on either Friday or Saturday (Feb 28/Mar 1) at 7 pm.

Four wins are needed to advance to the 2014 CCCAA Basketball State Championships on March 14-16 at Cerritos College.
