Chris Camper (left) averaged 20.7 points and 7.3 rebounds while Jeremiah Blandin averaged 12.3 points and 10.3 rebounds over three games at the IVC Classic.

Sophomore Chris Camper made some serious noise in his first three games as a Viking this weekend. The former Long Beach Poly High School standout averaged 25 points and 11 rebounds on his way to all-tournament team honors to help lead Long Beach City College to a 2-1 showing at the season-opening College of the Desert Tip-Off Classic tournament.

Men’s Basketball: Freshman-loaded Long Beach roster ready for 2015-16 season

Long Beach City College men’s basketball coach Barry Barnes has his work cut out for him. Last season, Barnes led the Vikings to a 23-7 overall record and a second consecutive South Coast Conference South Division championship. The Vikings reached the fourth round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs and were just a win away from advancing to the State Championship Final Four.
