The National Letters of Intent continue to be inked this offseason for the Viking Athletics as a pair of Long Beach City College men's basketball standouts have committed to four-year universities. Sophomore guard Breamon Richard (Los Angeles, CA) committed to California State University - Long Beach and sophomore forward Matt Arrivas (Sacramento, CA) signed with the San Francisco State University.

Richard was a dominant force throughout the entire California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) after being named to the South Coast Conference (SCC) – South First Team All-Conference squad. He earned his inaugural nod in his final season by averaging 20.4 points-per-game, which ranked eighth in the state and the SCC-South, while playing 34.7 minutes-per-contest. He was effective in various areas on the shooting front, but thrived behind the three point line. He drilled 67 three pointers en route to a 31.7 shooting percentage from downtown. His mark ranked 13th in the SCC-South. Additionally, the sophomore leader reached double-digit scoring in every game. Cal State Long Beach finished fourth in the Big West Conference with an overall record of 15-19 that included a 9-7 conference mark.

Arrivas was a solid weapon off the bench with the ability to contribute on both ends of the floor. Offensively, Arrivas added a spark at the forward position by averaging 7.3 points-per-game while contributing 19 minutes-per-game. Arrivas dropped a season-high 16 points twice on the season. The double-digit outburst first came in a victory over Desert. He matched the output in the final game of the season in a loss to then top-ranked EC-Compton Center. He landed in double-digit scoring nine times on the year. He finished with four double-doubles as well after finishing the season with five games that included double-digit boards. He averaged 5.7 rebounds-per-game. 

The Vikings finished fifth in the SCC-South with an overall record of 7-19 and a conference record of 3-7.
