No. 11 State-Ranked Men’s Basketball Takes Down Warriors 83-66

The No.11 Long Beach City College men's basketball team defeated the El Camino College Warriors 83-66 in their fourth South Coast Conference game on Friday evening in the Hall of Champions. This is the Vikings' third-consecutive conference victory.

The Vikings were neck-in-neck with the Warriors the entire first half. El Camino even had their largest lead by 12 points at the three minute mark, but the Vikings persevered. Freshman guard Jace Bass hit 15 points and had seven rebounds before halftime to keep the Vikings competing.

After halftime, the Vikings dropped 47 points on the Warriors. Bass hit 15 more points, to grant himself a career-high record of 30 points in one game. He also totaled 14 rebounds to get the double-double. Freshman guard Kester Ofoegbu was flawless in the second half as he did not miss a shot and hit 11 points.

Sophomore guard Jamiu Akinbile earned his sixth double-double this season with 11 points and had ten rebounds against the Warriors.

The Vikings went on to win to take the 83-66 conference victory over El Camino and will return to the court on Wed., Feb. 6 at LA Southwest at 5 p.m.
