The Long Beach City College Vikings defeated the Rio Hondo College Roadrunners 89-73 on Monday evening in the Hall of Champions. With the win, the Vikings share the South Coast Conference South Division Crown with LA Harbor College and Cerritos College, all with a 7-3 record in the division.
Freshman forward Kameron Mayhan and sophomore guard Khieem Williams led the team with 20 points each, while Mayhan also tallied 13 rebounds for the double-double.
Freshman guard Jackson Wimberly also made a statement off the bench for the Vikings as he totaled 13 points against the Roadrunners. To round out the top finishes for the Vikings, freshman guard Lorenzo Marsh had 15 points, eight rebounds and five steals.
The Vikings will be back on the court on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at LA Trade-Tech at 5 p.m.
