WALNUT – A furious 11-5 run over the final three minutes of the contest, sparked by a pair of free throws and three-pointer by Lorenzo Marsh, helped lead Long Beach City College to a 70-65 South Coast Conference interdivision victory at Mt. San Antonio College on Wednesday night.
With the scored tied 60-60 with 2:19 left to play, Marsh calmly sank a pair of free throws and on the Vikings ensuing possession, nailed a three-pointer to extend the Vikings' lead to 65-60 with 1:55 remaining.
Marsh totaled 14 points and 5 rebounds in the win. Chris Herrera scored a team-high 18 points to go with 8 assists, Bonard Johnson Jr had 15 points and 8 boards while Kameron Mayhan added 8 points, a team-high 10 rebounds, and 5 assists.
The win improved the Vikings to 10-4 overall this season. They close out the calendar year with another SCC crossover game on Dec. 17 at East Los Angeles College.
