Long Beach wraps up regular-season with 65-59 win at Compton

COMPTON - Lorenzo Marsh poured in 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while Kameron Mayhan totaled 15 points and 10 rebounds to help lead Long Beach City College to a 65-59 win at Compton College in both teams' regular-season finale.

Marsh, Mayhan, and Bonard Johnson Jr carried the load for LBCC. Johnson had a solid all-around game with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Shane Hunter chipped in with 7 points.

LBCC closed out the South Coast Conference South Division schedule tied for third place at 4-6. The Vikings are 16-12 overall as they head into the Southern California Regional Playoffs.

Head coach Barry Barnes is confident about his team's chances of reaching the postseason.

"We have a great chance of getting in," said Barnes. "We put together a nice overall record and had some solid wins over good opponents."

Playoff seedings will be announced on Monday with first-round games scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 22.
