The Long Beach City College Vikings faced a tough challenge against No. 9 Mt. San Antonio College on Wednesday evening, ultimately falling 94-90 in the South Coast Conference cross-over matchup.

Coming off of last week's record-high scoring, sophomore guard Brandon Cerda showcased an impressive performance, leading the team with 30 points and four steals, while freshman guard Franklyn Chambers also contributed offensively with 26 points and three assists.

Despite a valiant effort, the Vikings couldn't maintain their lead, and the Mounties secured the victory 94-90. Freshman guard Jacob Topete made a notable play in the final minutes, recording a steal and executing a fast-break layup to tie the game briefly at 82-82. However, Long Beach couldn't hold on, leading to Mt. SAC's cross-over win.

The Vikings will be back in action on Friday, January 12 at Los Angeles City College at 5 p.m.
