The Long Beach City College men's basketball squad pulled off a stunning upset against the 28th-ranked LA Southwest on Wednesday night, clinching a hard-fought 85-79 victory. With this triumph, the Vikings now secure the fourth position in the South Coast Conference standings, boasting a 4-5 record within the conference and an overall record of 11-16.

In a special celebration for sophomore night, paying tribute to guard Brandon Cerda, who delivered an impressive performance with 19 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Kane Young also showcased his prowess with 19 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. However, the standout scorer for the Vikings was Franklyn Chambers, who dominated with 25 points, six rebounds, and four steals.

The Vikings are poised for their next challenge on Friday, February 23, as they face off against Cerritos College in what marks their final showdown in the South Coast Conference at 6 p.m.
