The Long Beach City College men's soccer team has received an at-large berth into the 2013 Southern California Regional Playoffs. The playoff seedings were announced on Tuesday at the Southern California coaches postseason meetings.

The LBCC men are seeded No. 13 for the regional playoffs and travel to face nearby rival and No. 4-seeded Cerritos College in an opening-round game on Saturday (Nov 23) at 11:00 a.m.

Long Beach returns to the postseason after a one-year absence. Under co-head coaches Cameron Beaulac and Pat Noyes, LBCC has reached the playoffs in seven of the past 10 seasons.

Long Beach and Cerritos are a part of six South Coast Conference teams that were selected for the 14-team playoff field. Cerritos at 12-5-4 overall and 8-3-3, finished second in the SCC while Long Beach was 7-6-8 overall this season and 4-5-5 in conference games to finish in sixth place.

This will mark the third meeting of the year between the two teams, with Cerritos winning the first 2-1 at home, while the second game was a 1-1 draw in Long Beach. The winner of Saturday's game advances to face either No.5-seeded Santiago Canyon College or No. 12-seeded El Camino College next Tuesday.

Three wins in the Southern California Regionals will advance the LBCC men to the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championship on December 6 & 8 in Sacramento.
