Sophomore Jose Garcia (Artesia HS) scored in the 64th minute to help lead the Long Beach City College men's soccer team to a 1-0 South Coast Conference win over visiting Mt. San Antonio College on Tuesday.

Mt. SAC (10-4-6, 6-4-3 SCC) outshot Long Beach by a 13-9 margin but freshman goalkeeper Daniel DeHaro (Cabrillo HS) came up big for LBCC with five saves. He posted his second straight shutout and fourth of the season.

Sophomore Julian Sanchez (Bellflower HS) was credited with the assist on Garcia's goal.

Long Beach, now 7-5-7 overall and 5-4-4 in SCC play, has likely secured an at-large spot in the Southern California Regional Playoffs. A win in the Vikings' regular-season finale on Friday (Nov. 14) against Pasadena City College would likely secure a first-round home game.
