The Long Beach City College men's soccer team has received an at-large berth and the No. 6 seed for the 2014 Southern California Regional Playoffs. Long Beach will host the No. 11-seeded Oxnard College Condors in an opening-round game on Saturday (Nov 22) at 2 p.m.

Tickets for the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) playoff game at LBCC are $10 for general admission and $7 for students, faculty, and staff with ID as well as seniors ages 60+ and kids 12 years old and under.

Under head coach Cameron Beaulac, Long Beach has reached the playoffs in eight of the past 11 seasons and is making its second consecutive postseason appearance.

The Vikings bring an 8-5-7 overall record into the regionals and finished fourth in the South Coast Conference standings at 6-4-4. For the second straight year, Long Beach was one of six SCC squads selected for the 14-team playoff field. Conference rivals Mt. San Antonio College (No. 1 seed), Cerritos College (No. 2), El Camino College (No. 3), East Los Angeles College (No. 10), and Los Angeles Harbor College (No. 12) also reached the playoffs.

Oxnard closed out the regular season as champions of the Western State Conference at 12-0-4. It was the Condors' third straight conference title. Oxnard is led by head coach Ross Greaney and has a 13-5-5 overall record heading into the postseason.

Saturday's game will be the first of the season between the two squads.  The winner of the contest advances to face either No.3-seeded El Camino (9-1-10) or No. 14-seeded Southwestern College (9-8-4) next Tuesday (Nov. 25).

Three wins in the Southern California Regionals will advance the LBCC men to the CCCAA State Championship on December 5 & 7 at Mt. SAC in Walnut.
