The South Coast Conference Long Beach City College men's soccer team saw its season come to an end with a 2-1 loss in overtime at Oxnard College on Saturday in an opening round game of the Southern California Regional Playoffs. It was the second straight year that the two squads needed extra time to decide the playoff winner.

No. 6 seed Oxnard scored first, getting a goal early in the fifth minute to take a 1-0 lead. LBCC, the No. 11 seed, played well in the second half and finally got the equalizer in the 80th minute that eventually forced overtime. In the second overtime, Oxnard got the game-winner in the 110th minute.

LBCC made its third consecutive postseason appearance. Under head coach Cameron Beaulac, the Vikings have reached the playoffs in nine of the past 12 seasons. Long Beach closed the 2015 season with a 13-7-2 overall record and was champions of the South Coast Conference with a 9-4-1 mark.
