Viking Men's Soccer Ends in Scoreless Tie against Cerritos

The Long Beach City College men's soccer team hit the road on Tuesday afternoon to face off against Cerritos College in conference action. In an evenly matched contest that featured a combined 23 shots, the Vikings ended in a scoreless draw for the third time on the season.

Freshman goalkeeper Saul Ocampo (Hawaiian Gardens, CA) did all he could to haul in another victory by making five saves in 90 minutes of action.

The offense fired off 11 shots in the game with seven different players hammering off an attempt. Sophomore defender Irving Alvarado (Bellflower, CA), sophomore defender Hector Rojo (Bellflower, CA), sophomore midfielder Jamie Salazar (Long Beach, CA), and freshman forward Ruben Martinez (Norwalk, CA) each fired off two shots.

The Vikings (2-5-3, 1-0-1 SCC) will return home on Friday, October 7 to face off against ECC Compton at 4 p.m.
