The men's soccer team defeated the Compton College Tartars in their fifth conference match of the season 1-0. In their last meeting at Compton College, the Vikings lost 3-0. the Vikings are now 11-4-2 overall and 3-1-1 in conference.
Sophomore forward Christopher Ribet was the star of the game with his offensive skills against the Tartar defense. In the final minute of the first half, he had a header shot that skimmed the top of cross bar of the Compton cage.
In the second half of the game, his hard work paid off with a cross pass from freshman defender Adrian Martinez and freshman midfielder Steven Espinoza for the only goal of the game.
Goalkeeper Andres Figueroa-Flores had four saves in 90 minutes of work for the Vikings.
The men's soccer team will play again on Friday November 3, at LA Harbor College at 4 p.m.
