The men's soccer team tied the Rio Hondo Roadrunners 1-1 on Tuesday afternoon at the Viking Soccer Field. This is the Vikings' fourth tie of the season, which brings them 11-4-4 overall and 3-2-1 in the South Coast Conference.

The battle began in the first half, where both sides remained scoreless after fighting tirelessly defensively. After the break and within the first minute of the second half, freshman midfielder Oskar Raymundo drove a grounder in the back of the Roadrunner's net with the assist from sophomore midfielder Fabio Mujica.

Rio Hondo answered back immediately 20 seconds later with their first and only goal. Raymundo had two more shots on goal, but was unable to complete.

Sophomore goalkeeper Andres Figueroa-Flores totaled six saves with seven shots on goal in ninety minutes of pure effort.

The Vikings will play again against Cerritos in their final home game of the season on Friday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m.
