Men’s Soccer Set to Host Oxnard in SoCal Regionals

The No. 6 men's soccer team has qualified for the 2017 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) SoCal Regional Playoffs on Tuesday afternoon. The Vikings are set to host No. 11 Oxnard College (13-7-1) on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. at the Viking Soccer Field.

Game tickets will be sold for $12 at the door. The cost of admission for seniors and students will be $8.

Long Beach completed the 2017 season with an 11-5-5 overall record and finished third in the South Coast Conference with a 3-2-3 record. During the regular season, the Vikings held a perfect 8-0 record.

Sophomore goalkeeper Andres Figueroa-Flores is second in the conference with 81 saves and a save percentage of .835.

This is the fourth meeting between the Vikings and the Condors in the SoCal Regionals and the tenth postseason appearance under head coach Cameron Beaulac. The Vikings have played the Condors in 2011, 2014 and 2015. In their last meeting in 2015 at Oxnard College, the Vikings lost 2-1.
