The Long Beach City College Men's Soccer team had their annual banquet on Jan. 11 to celebrate their season, as well as gave out awards to different players.  This season, the team accomplished what no other team has done in the past, and had a perfect 8-0 record during the preseason. In addition, the team went undefeated at home during the regular season and had reached a school record national ranking of two by the NSCAA.

The Most Valuable Player was awarded to sophomore center-back Julian Guerrero. Guerrero helped lead the team to nine shut-outs on the season and a regional rank of six in goal against average (GAA).  In addition, Guerrero was selected to the CCCAA All-Region First Team, and has committed to continue his college career at California State University Dominguez Hills. 

Freshman Ruben Menjivar was selected Most Outstanding Player for his play as the main orchestra of the team from his holding midfielder position. In addition, he was second on the team in both goals and overall scoring. Menjivar led the team with five player of the game selections for the season, and was an all-conference first team selection.

The leader of the team in scoring, with 15 points on seven goals and one assist was sophmomore forward Christopher Ribet. This was second consecutive year that he led the team in scoring and was selected as the team's Most Valuable Offensive player. Ribet plans on continuing his academic and athletic career at California State University of Los Angeles.

Freshman defender Daniel Camacho received the team's Most Improved Player award. Camacho started 15 of 17 matches at the left full-back position. He became a lockdown defender by the end of the season and was instrumental in being part of the squad's nine shut-outs.  Daniel has verbally committed to continue his play at the University of Hawaii-Hilo. 

Rounding out the team awards was sophomore goalkeeper Andres Figueroa-Flores, who received the Coaches Award. This award represents a player who dedicated himself and worked hard in trainings, is a positive example and force for the team both in character and play, as well as being helpful to the coaching staff and an example for others to follow. From his goalkeeper position, Figueroa-Flores started in every game of the season, had nine shut-outs, 90 saves, and a 1.01 GAA. In addition, Figueroa-Flores was a second team all-conference selection.

Three other players were honored for their performances on the season and selections to the all-conference team. Freshman Adrian Martinez, was a first team selection as a defender who started all 22 contests at right-back and contributed two assists on the year. Another freshman, Oskar Raymundo, was a second team selection from his midfield position. Raymundo had key goals in both a 1-0 win against Orange Empire Champion Goldenwest, and the game tying goal versus Cerritos College. Rounding out the second team honors is Fabio Mujica. Fabio is a repeat all-conference selection from his holding midfielder position.
