The Vikings fell to the Golden West College Rustlers 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon. The Vikings now fall to 1-2 overall.
In the first half of the game, the Rustlers scored the opening goal against the Vikings. Long Beach pushed back against the Rustlers defense with 11 total shots, but couldn't complete.
Goalkeeper freshman Mario DelaTorre started for the Vikings and totaled two saves for Long Beach.
The Vikings held the Rustlers in the second half by not allowing them to score, but Long Beach needed one more point to get into extra time.
The Vikings fell 1-0 to Golden West College, but they will return to action on Friday, Sept 7 against San Bernardino Valley College at 4 p.m.
