No. 15 Vikings Fall in Final Conference Game to No. 1 Cerritos

The No. 15 Long Beach City College men's soccer team fell to No. 1 Cerritos College 3-1 on Friday afternoon in their final conference game of the season. With the loss, the Vikings drop to 12-4-4 overall and 4-1-3 in the South Coast Conference.

The Falcons opened the game with a goal in the eleventh minute, but the Vikings fought hard and sophomore forward Carlos Maldonado struck one in the back of the net to tie the game 1-1 before halftime. Sophomore midfielder Oskar Raymundo got the assist for Maldonado's goal.

In the second half of the game, Vikings starting goalkeeper Mario DeLaTorre got injured, so freshman defender Adrian Garcia stepped in and had one save against the Falcons.

The Viking offense was working hard throughout the game as they had 11 shots with five shots on the Falcons goal. The Falcons scored two more goals and took home the 3-1 win.
