The Long Beach City College Vikings took down the LA Habror College Seahawks 3-2 on Tuesday evening at Veterans Memorial Stadium. With the win, the Vikings advance to 5-8-3 overall and 2-2-1 in the South Coast Conference.
The Seahawks came out strong as they scored first to take the initial 1-0 lead. The Vikings rallied and came back with a slammer from freshman defender Romel Burgos to tie the game 1-1. Sophomore midfielder Sergio Flores earned a penalty kick and smashed it straight in the bottom left-hand corner of the Seahawks' net to lead the Vikings 2-1.
The Seahawks answered back with another goal to tie the Long Beach 2-2 at halftime.
Sophomore forward Jaelyn Agu finished the game with the final goal with seven minutes left on the clock to seal the Vikings' conference win 3-2.
The Long Beach City College Vikings will return to the field on Friday, Oct. 25 against Rio Hondo College at 4p.m. at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
