Men’s Soccer Ties Compton 3-3

The Long Beach City College men's soccer team tied Compton College 3-3 on Tuesday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium. With the tie, the Vikings hold on to a 6-8-4 overall record and are 3-2-2 in the South Coast Conference.

Freshman goalkeeper Oliver Juarez shined for the Vikings as he had five saves against eight shots from the Tartars.

Sophomore forward Sahleek Joubert scored the Vikings' first goal to lead the Tartars 1-0.

In the second half of the game, the Tartars tied the game 1-1 with a penalty kick. Joubert scored again for the Vikings and then freshman forward Gustavo Cervantes extended the Vikings lead 3-1.

With less than five minutes left on the clock, the Tartars rallied and scored two more goals to end the game with a 3-3 tie.

The Long Beach City College Vikings will return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Cerritos College at 1:00 p.m.
